One Click From Your Menu to Your Resume

Upload a PDF in your resume settings and it becomes available from your menu and from a download control on your resume page. It will also be the file that feeds press kit pages when those arrive.

Small things we handle for you

  • The filename. Whatever you upload is served as YourName-Resume.pdf. Nobody wants resume_v4_FINAL_new(2).pdf sitting in their downloads folder with your career in it.
  • Opening rather than downloading. The file opens in the browser's viewer, so somebody can glance at it without committing to a download. The download control is still there.
  • A stable address. Replacing the file keeps the same address, so a link you gave somebody last year still resolves to your current resume.
  • Size checking. If your PDF is 14 megabytes because the headshot inside it is a print scan, we will tell you.

Make the PDF worth opening

Two things separate a resume that reads professionally from one that does not, and neither is about design.

First, one page. This is not a rule invented by websites, it is what the people reading it expect, and a second page is read considerably less often than the first.

Second, your contact details at the top, and specifically the ones you check. A resume PDF travels. It gets forwarded, saved, printed and found again eighteen months later, entirely detached from your website. If it has a dead email on it, everything else on the page is wasted.

Do not put your home address on it

City and general area, yes. Street address, no. It is on a public website, it will be indexed, and there is no version of this where the address helps you get a job.

Keep it in step with the site

The most common failure is a PDF from 2023 sitting behind a credits page updated last month. If you would rather not maintain two, use the live resume option described in the resume page type, which builds itself from your credits and never falls behind.

If you do not have a resume you are happy with, we built a separate tool for exactly that: Resume For Actors.
